Dove is one of the main protagonists of Wishmere. She is the most positive of the Wishmere and greatly seeks to enact justice.

She is the current chosen Archer of Gladus, possessing the magical Bow of Anthou.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Dove comes from a fairly well-off family, known for their history in the plantation industry. Though provided with everything in her life, Dove found her family's luxury boring, always believed and dreamed of doing something greater with her life. Originally from a private school, Dove requested to be transferred to Hazelroad High. Dove was a student, when she and her friends were rescued by King Elreed when Doubt's army stormed their city.

When told of the powers of King Elreed and when asked to become a Wishmere, Dove realized that she had the power to make a difference, a true difference, she accepted. She emerged out of the Energies as an Archer of Gladus with a magical Bow of Anthou. Full of overbrimming hope and zeal, Dove looks forward to stopping Doubt and his forces.

Dove is the middle child of her family, and does not have a part-time job, due to her parents disallowing her from getting a job.

Gameplay Overview[edit | edit source]

Dove is a long ranged character with projectiles that can set the pace of the match. She excels at keeping opponents out with her Ability arrows and baiting for mistakes. She can also lock down a vulnerable opponent by using her Edge (Target Lockdown) to force opponents into long pressure on wakeup or when she decides to go on the offensive. She also has a good handful of mobile and dashing attacks, coupled with decent ranged normals, giving her an advantage at mid range also. Dove's Edge and two-step Ultimate Art make her a more setup heavy character, reliant on predicting opponent's movements.

Edge: Target Lockdown & Unrelenting Blast[edit | edit source]

Target Lockdown places a Node at Dove location. Dove can shoot any of her Crystalight Shots into the Node, creating a large multi-hitting burst projectile called Unrelenting Blast, allowing for followups or extended block strings. The Node also has a directional arrow, indicating the direction the blast shoots in. Dove can rotate the direction of the arrow by pressing u / d + EDG. Placing a Node on-screen while holding a direction will spawn the Node with the directional arrow facing the direction pressed. There is no difference of burst projectile if a slow or fast Crystalight Shot is used to shoot into the Node.

Pros:[edit | edit source]

  • Excellent zoning with Crystalight Shots in multiple angles, keeping opponents as far as she wants them to be
  • A well implemented Edge is powerful and versatile: long periods of lockdown, keep away or forced okizeme set ups
  • Good and quick defensive normals, allowing her to stop opponents who have broken through her zoning
  • Compared to the rest of the cast, Dove has safe normals and Abilities (generally)
  • Some normals provide extra movement, covering more ground or giving Dove ways to escape (especially f + H)

Cons:[edit | edit source]

  • Relies heavily on set up to get her offense going, thus relying on a knockdown
  • Most of her Abilities do not knock the opponent down
  • Outside of a few particular situations, Super Art is weak and telegraphed
  • Longest Edge charge time in the game
  • Weak guard break potential, opponents are at low risk if they block consistently
